The Lion in India lives in the shadow of the Tiger and in that of the African Lion as well, rather unfairly. This is probably due to the landscape of dry, human filled landscape of Gir in Gujarat. However, let us not forget that this is the last abode of the Asiatic Lion in the world and a must visit destination on the Indian Wildlife Safari circuit.

Kanha Tiger Reserve : An ancient forest of great importance in the Satpura Maikal Range of the Central Indian Highlands.

This gorgeous giant that is the Indian Elephant occurs in the tropical forests of India. Usually living a disturbed life in the presence of humans, they find solace in great national parks such as Kaziranga as the migrate long distance across the evergreen forests of Eastern India. Truly a sight to behold these beauties of India!
